Athletic Therapy Services (A.T.S) is a program administered by the Manitoba Athletic Therapists’ Association (MATA). Which is a non-profit organization mandated to govern the profession of Athletic Therapy in Manitoba. The MATA consist of Certified Athletic Therapists, certification candidates, as well as enfranchised members whom are all committed to providing prevention and care of activity related injuries, in all levels of sport and recreation, ranging from the grass roots level to the elite athlete, throughout Manitoba.


If you are planning an upcoming event, let the Manitoba Athletic Therapists’ Association take the worry out of your medical coverage. The Athletic Therapy Services program offers a wide variety of medical/emergency/first aide coverage for any event. Events including but not limited to: international, national, provincial, regional, high school, league games, recreational, promotional and charitable events

 

Choosing the right service for your event

We offer event coverage from Certified Athletic Therapist as well as Certification Candidates who are students in the athletic therapy program at an accredited institution. Below is the differences in the services provided between the two.

 

Certified Athletic Therapist

-       Able to make return to play decisions

-        Full liability insurance

-        Fully trained first responders

-        Completed national certification exam

-        Capable of assessing and treating musculoskeletal injuries

-        Rate is 30$ per hour

Certification candidate

-        Fully trained first responders

-        Able to refer to right care for injuries

-        Unable to make return to play decisions

-        Rate is $14 per hour

If your event requires multiple people, we suggest requesting at least one certified athletic therapist to overview the event. We also requesting Certified Athletic Therapists for the following age groups and levels.

-        Over 14 yrs of age

-        Contact sports
