True North Rehabilitation along with the OCN Blizzard are pleased to be offering a full-time position beginning mid-August 2021.

This exciting opportunity will have the successful applicant spending approximately 20 hours per week treating clients at True North Rehabilitation, located within the Kelsey Recreation and Wellness Center, and approximately 20 hours per week working with the OCN Blizzard as their team Athletic Therapist.

True North Rehabilitation:


  • Providing assessment and treatment of an orthopedic caseload of WCB, MPI, and private insurance patients
  • Prescribing exercise programs for patients with longer term injuries
  • Designing work hardening and reconditioning programs for clients with complex injuries
  • Aid in billing and scheduling when able


  • Certified Athletic Therapist in good standing with the provincial and national associations.
  • Knowledge of best practice standards and patient safety
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle 

OCN Blizzard:


  • Assist in the prevention, assessment and treatment of injuries
  • Responsible for giving players medical treatment they may need prior to, during or after practices/games
  • Provide medical coverage at all practice sessions and games, both home and away
  • Develop an Emergency Action Plan
  • Provide injury evaluation, management, and rehabilitation
  • Develop a return to play plan for injured players
  • Coordinate treatment with physicians/medical personnel
  • Provide an injury report/update to the coaching staff daily
  • Maintain all medical records pertaining to treatment required
  • Coordinate medical insurance claims
  • Maintain team equipment: Sharpen skates, perform minor fixes, cleaning and laundry throughout the season
  • Keep an up to date inventory of all equipment
  • Order equipment as required 

Desired Qualifications an asset but not a requirement:

  • Graduation from an accredited Athletic Therapy University/College program
  • Respect in Sport
  • Hockey Canada Safety Program
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Certified Athletic Therapist (CATA or NATA)
  • Criminal Record Check
