Information from MPI - Virtual Treatments

Similar to our agreement earlier in the year, therapists can initiate virtual care on claims where the therapist deems it beneficial in rehabilitation and recovery. The current Category limits remain in place and all virtual treatment reduces the visit limits. Each treatment will need to be marked “Virtual” on invoicing. A virtual treatment will be invoiced the same as a Subsequent visit. Please note that all virtual treatment will be invoiced as a Subsequent visit including prior Category 3 approvals.

The province of Manitoba has released the #RESTARTMB Pandemic Response System. The report is intended to help people understand the current level of risk and the public health guidance that must be followed. The Pandemic Response System is four colour-coded levels with easily identifiable symbols.  They can be applied at a provincial level or an even more focused regional, community, sector or facility level, if required.

The MATA recognizes that these are unprecedented and difficult times for our members.  As a result, the Board has already extended the deadline for membership renewal to Monday, April 20th at 11:59PM.  The Board, with approval from the CATA, has agreed to now also offer the option of two equal payment instalments for certified therapists.  Certification candidates do not qualify for this option.

All Athletic Therapists desiring to practice as a Certified Athletic Therapist within the Province of Manitoba must be registered with the Registrar of the Manitoba Athletic Therapists’ Association (M.A.T.A.). The application for registration must be submitted in written form, to the M.A.T.A. Registrar.
