Certification Candidates:


Individuals wishing to pursue certification as an Athletic Therapist must complete the following:

  • Register with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) as an Athletic Therapy Certification Candidate.
  • Make a one-time submission of attendance at a Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) seminar.
  • Submit a completed MATA certification candidate application form along with the appropriate membership fee.

Certified Athletic Therapists:


Certified Athletic Therapists wishing to utilize the title of certified athletic therapist or practice athletic therapy in Manitoba must complete the following:

  • Submit a completed MATA Certified Athletic Therapist application form along with the appropriate membership fee.
  • Make a one-time submission of attendance at a Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) seminar.
  • Comply with the MATA's Registration and Billing Guidelines.
