McKenzie Method Part A – The Lumbar Spine Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy (MDT)

Part A: The Lumbar Spine (26 hrs)

This course begins with a comprehensive online session, followed by a three day live course focusing on the application of the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of the lumbar spine.

Course Topics include:

• Patient demonstration, analysis and discussion  (assessment and treatment of 4 or 5 legitimate, symptomatic and functionally limited patients, recruited by the sponsoring clinic)
• • The philosophy and principles of MDT
• Subjective / objective assessment
• Examination and treatment: postural, dysfunction and derangement syndromes
• Anatomy, biomechanics, epidemiology and predisposing factors
• Differentiating mechanical pain from red flags and serious pathologies
• Follow-up and treatment progressions
• Indications for and practice of manual techniques
• Practical solutions for helping patients prevent recurrence


McKenzie Method Part B – Cervical & Thoracic Spine Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy (MDT)

Course Location:   University of Manitoba

COURSE DATES:   May 26-28, 2017
open to:  McKenzie MDT trained practitioners that are Level A or higher.
