Toronto Midget Aeros Womans Hockey Team


 The Toronto Midget Aeros womens hockey team is seeking an athletic therapist to work as the team therapist for the 2015-2016 seasion.
The Toronto Midget Aeros is an elite female hockey team competing in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League. One of our main objectives is to help our players obtain hockey scholarships at the best possible universities when they are ready to graduate from our hockey program.  Over the years our program has produced over 100 outstanding players in both Canadian and U.S.A Universities.  Several of our players have also represented Canada at the National and International levels, including at the Olympic Games.
Our season runs from September to mid April. During that time we will play approximately 70 hockey games. Our home ice is at Seneca College (Newnham Campus) and Carnegie Centennial Arena.

Responsibilities:
·        Be on the bench for all games (home and away) during the season, including tournaments.
·        Assess any injuries that occur during competition
·        Determine when it is safe for injured players  to return to competition
·        Tape/wrap  injured players as needed before each game
·        Deliver first-aid services as need during the season

Qualifications – Certified Athletic Therapist
 The successful applicant would be required to obtain their Hockey Canada Trainer’s certification (available through an online course) and complete the Hockey Canada Speak out course, (also available online). The team would cover the cost for both training programs.
No prior hockey experience is necessary.
While all of our coaches are volunteers, compensation is available to this role commensurate with experience and value to our program.  The team will pay for all first aid and taping supplies.
