Responsibilities:
·        Assist with pre-season medical examinations & baseline concussion testing
·        Assist with injury prevention strategies as implemented by the Head Athletic Therapist
·        Assess athletes for injuries, determine the appropriate course of treatment, and determine when the athlete is able to return to play
·        Maintain medical records in accordance with PHIA requirements and University of Winnipeg policies and guidelines
·        Provide preventative treatment for Wesmen athletes
·        Attend team practices and games as assigned
·        Oversee and evaluate the work of students enrolled in the Athletic Therapy practicum program in the Clinic
·        Provide treatment and rehabilitation for employees, students, and members of the general public on a fee for service basis

Qualifications:

·        CAT(C) designation is required
·        Minimum 2 years related work experience is desired
·        Experience working as a therapist with high performance athletes is desirable
·        Good working knowledge of regulations (e.g., PHIA), policies, and procedures as they relate to the work performed by this position
·        Must be able to maintain confidentiality with respect to medical records and information
·        Good organizational and time management skills are required
·        Good verbal and written communication skills are required
·        Good working skills with computer software including Microsoft Word, excel, powerpoint, and able to be oriented with Clinic master software
·        Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
·        Ability to make sound independent judgements and utilize problem-solving skills
·        Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required
·        Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels of students, employees, and other clients
